The Baobab tree is a national symbol of Senegal. Le Petit Baobab, was my attempt to convey my experience in an obsessive exploration of the baobab. I felt disjointed from the subject matter, being in England and not being able to physically interact with it. I was overwhelmed by information that which I did not find personally engaging. The centre of the canvas, a baobab shaped empty space, conveys that despite having substantial amounts of information about this tree, I could not find the core of what I was looking for.
